Donald Trump caricature as interpreted by Dan Youra

Each artist who choses to breathe artistic life into a character, caricature, or a cartoon understandably and inevitably depicts the character according to his or her own very personal values, biases, and preferences.

Each artist gives the subject of the art whatever "spin" he or she wants to paint or sculpt the character.

Looking specifically at the renditions in which artists portray Donald J Trump, a variety of artistic results are many, varied, and controversial.

Mostly The Donald is projected in mainstream media as the Bad Guy, the ogre who is accused of wanting to destroy the United States of America. He is not portrayed as the cowboy who is wearing the White Hat.

Amongst his fans, The Donald is painted as Superman, The Hero, The Savior of the masses.

Dan Youra's depiction of The Donald is quite different from the dominant results that are most often seen in the media.

Dan Youra's view is very different from both extremes. Neither The Joker nor Superman fit into Youra's perception, when answering the question, "Who is The Donald?"

Youra peels away the costumes, the slanted images, and the fabricated characters conjured by the anti Trumpers. Youra has his own view of The Donald, which he summarizes as follows. Youra sees The Donald more like Clark Kent than Superman. Youra looks past the gold plated facade and the Showman's glitz.

Youra burrows down into the essence of the man. Start with The Donald's humanity. The artist sees fundamental aspects of The Donald's being wrapped up in more ordinary views of life.

The Donald as "Everyman."
